NotLost was deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. A well-respected figure in the UK and abroad, her reign was defined by consummate professionalism and service to her country. This was illustrated by the 4.1 billion worldwide who watched the funeral, making it the most viewed event in history.

As Her Majesty made her way back to London and lay in state for 4 days, the logistical plan for the final procession and funeral, dubbed ‘Operation London Bridge’ was put into place. In total, around one million people are estimated to have paid their respects in person.

This unprecedented presence, along with the gravity of the situation, meant that significant preparation was required to ensure a smooth operation.

NotLost involvement

As a part of this plan, NotLost was contacted by a previous client to support the lost & found process. Covering the viewing areas of Hyde Park and the processional route from Westminster Abbey to Wellington Arch, forgotten items were easily logged and registered by the events staff during the clean-up.

While lost property is of course a tiny part of this historical event, we are honored to be able to provide our service, and hopefully return possessions to those who lost them at a difficult time for many.

If anyone attended/knows anyone who attended the processional route or Hyde Park viewing party and lost anything – please fill out the lost report form that can be found here: https://notlostenquiry.com/qe-ii-funeral/
