El Dorado

Eastnor Castle, Herefordshire
5th – 7th July

El Dorado festival review banner

As far as boutique UK festivals go, El Dorado are artists within the field. 2019 was the 4th year from the Cirque Du Soul organised event which welcomed stellar headliners such as Andy C, Kool and the Gang, Ocean Wisdom, Romare and Dimension. El Dorado festival is located in the picturesque Eastnor Castle area of Deer Park. Each stage boasted its own unique theme ranging from an Aztec inspired stage to a Pirates grotto.

Judging by the official festival photos you can see the event staff put real time and care into making each area of the site fun, unique and full of surprises! Everything from Trapeze artists, inflatable slip n slides and even on-site wedding ceremonies. Reviews from those in attendance have been uniformly positive, confirming El Dorado as one of the best small to medium UK festivals out there right now.

British Summer Time Hyde Park

Hyde Park, London
5th – 7th July & 12th – 14th July

British Summer Time Hyde Park Lost Property

Prestige and pizazz was a central theme for the Barclaycard British Summer Time by anyone’s standards. The icons gracing the Hyde Park stage drew fans from all corners of the world, to experience performances from colossal acts such as Celine Dion, Robbie Williams, Stevie Wonder and EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Toni award) winner Barbara Streisand. Social media was alight with excited commentary, with word quickly spreading that Robbie and Barbara had made mighty comebacks, leaving the UK festival attendees with a gifted pair of performances.

Brands such as Coca Cola, Tinder and Barclaycard (of course) were marketing and keeping punters entertained whilst the evening’s music was in preparation. The Barclaycard stage hosted fitting rising talent such as Mathilda Homer, Lets Eat Grandma and Connie Constance throughout the 2 weekends. AEG Presents’ second event of the summer (the previous being All Points East) and 7th Annual event in Hyde Park was a day festival done with elegance, that won’t be forgotten any time soon.

2000 Trees

Upcote Farm, Cheltenham
11th – 13th July

2000 Trees Lost Property Form Logo

One of the more unique and treasured UK festivals on our July schedule was 2000 trees festival. The Indie, punk, rock and alternative line up is favoured by fans and bands alike, and for good reason. Headline acts will often be seen on smaller stages to play more intimate sets, with fans alike able to play at busking areas throughout the site which brings together the acts and attendees like few other festivals.

This year saw headliners such as You Me At Six, At the Drive-Ins, and special guests Enter Shikari drawing rock fans from all over to the Upcote Farm site in the Cotswold Hills. 2000 Trees solidified itself as a self-described ‘no glitter’ alternative and indie rock festival that all ages can appreciate for another year in 2019.

Kendal Calling

Lowther Deer Park, Lake District
25th – 28th July

Kendal Calling Lost Property Form

Set in the picturesque Lake District, Kendal Calling has come a long way from its humble beginnings in 2006. Now hosting its 10th consecutive year in Lowther Deer Park as a full-fledged 4-day affair with 25,000 daily capacity. The weather may have been temperamental but the party and vibe were consistent throughout the weekend.

Live sets from the likes of the legendary Chic and Nile Rodgers and Tom Jones drew big crowds despite the weather. This year’s theme was Jurassic, so inflatable T-Rex costumes and Flintstone themed outfits were out in force. You may think Kendal Calling’s stage exclusively hosts songbirds and bands reminiscent of the Manchester scene hay-day, but you’d be wrong. Kendal Calling has since evolved into an event that can cater to you no matter your age or music preference, as they’ve squeezed in the right recipe for just about any Brit to have a good time. Kendal Calling is also one of the first UK festivals to boast a Google Virtual Tour!

The independent music and arts festival returns to Hertfordshire for its 14th year. A fantasy influenced theme was on the cards this year with a theme entitled ‘Twisted Creatures’. Headliners included the sublime Rag’n’Bone Man, alternative rock quartet Wolf Alice and newly appointed Scottish sensation Lewis Capaldi.

Comedy talent is also a staple for Standon Calling and this year was no different. Seasoned stand-ups Russell Kane, Andrew Maxwell, Sarah Keyworth and more were performing for those whose dancing feet needed a rest. Overall, Standon Calling brought vibes, laughter and magic to the UK festival circuit.

MADE Festival

Perry Park, Birmingham
27th – 28th July 2019

MADE Festival Lost Property

Dance and UK Rap heavyweights were the choice for the Birmingham based UK festival. The Main Stage saw collectives such as the UK Garage act TQD (formed of DJ Q, Royal-T and Flava D) as well as dance-era defining duo Chase and Status. This dance-heavy influence was complimented by UK rap/Afro beat breakout act Hardy Caprio and Grime legend Lethal Bizzle.

The North Stage hosted one of the summer’s most stellar DnB rosters with Andy C, S.P.Y and an A-Grade ensemble in the form of Problem Central all being showcased. Drum and Bass fans were treated further as publicised with Dimension and Sub Focus. The two of which joined forces exclusively in Birmingham for MADE Festival as their only UK back to back set, so it wasn’t one to be missed!
