Today, Brewdog are opening Waterloo’s second lost property office. Rather than being dedicated to returning misplaced items, however, this one will focus solely on dispensing martinis. Could this result in hilarious mix-ups as city workers attempt to order drinks from confused railway staff? Almost certainly.

Curated by Rich Woods aka ‘The Cocktail Guy aka ‘The Heston Blumenthal of cocktails’,  The Lost Property Office will be nestled within Brewdog’s latest venture, the largest pub in the UK. Clocking in at a cavernous 26,500ft – the two-floor, 1,775 capacity space represents a fresh temptation for London’s commuters to put off returning home, delaying dinners across the south of England for years to come.

Brewdog Waterloo – What’s it got?

Aside from a hidden bar masquerading as a lost property office, Brewdog Waterloo has a fair bit going on. As you would expect, the range of refreshments will be extensive. 60 taps will serve an array of quirky beers, including a location-specific ‘Trainspotter’ brew. For the hungry masses, upmarket versions of pub classics will be on offer. Not a fan of burgers, chips and wings? Well, you can also have Neopolitan pizza fresh from a wood-fired oven.

But, lots of strange-sounding beer and tasty grub are hardly anything new in London’s increasingly gentrified pub scene. Not wanting just to offer more of the same, Brewdog Waterloo has gone all out with the extras. These include a bowling alley, late-night ping pong and a free-to-use co-working space for those that can’t work a moment longer without a pint.

Have you ever walked down a flight of stairs and thought ‘not again’? Fear not. Connecting the two floors will be a slide, although it is caveated with the somewhat sobering warning of ‘No head firsts, no drinks, no two at a time’. Steps will be available for those not wanting to have any fun.

If you’re interested in attending the grand opening, doors open at 12 today. From 8, The Futureheads will be performing live, with their set described as “a mixture of acoustic, acappella, and will feature electro-acoustic reworking of classic Futureheads tunes.” Two lucky attendees will also win an all-inclusive trip to the opening of Brewdog Las Vegas.

Oh yeah, and there will be a parallel event held in the metaverse for those unable to make it in real life. Welcome to the future.
